信楽にて作陶する古谷宣幸さんの展覧会を開催いたします。古谷さんは父であり陶芸家である故 古谷道生が築窯した窯を解体し、昨年の夏から新たな窯を作り始めました。数ヶ月の歳月をかけて今年1月にようやく窯が完成しました。今展ではこうして作られた窯での初窯展となります。案内状の画像はまだ火を入れていない窯の内部です。近年、古谷さんは天目茶盌を中心に作陶されておりましたが、今後は天目だけでなく粉引や焼き締め、黒釉などの器もこの窯から生み出されていくと思います。果たして初窯はどのような焼き上がりになるでしょうか。皆様にもどうぞご高覧頂きたいと思います。

We are pleased to have the exhibitio of Noriyuki Furutani who makes works in Shigaraki. He started to built a new kiln last summer after he dismantled the kiln he had used that is built by his father Michio Furutani. It’s been months and finally finished this January. At the exhibition, we will exhibit new works fired in the new kiln. The picture in the front is the interior of the kiln which is not used yet. Over the past few years, he had made mainly Tenmoku, but he is going to make other kinds of works such as Kohiki, non-glazed, and black glazed in this new kiln.
