高知県四万十市で木の器を制作される荒井智哉さんの展覧会を開催いたします。四万十の豊かな自然の中に身を置き、農業と暮らしをいとなむ荒井さん。そんな生活の中から生まれる作品は堂々たる力強さ、柔らかな包容力を持ちます。木の個性を生かしてつくる作品は決して整ったものではありませんが、自然を知り、木を知る荒井さんだからこそ生み出せる揺らぎある作品は大きな魅力を湛えます。今展では鉈彫の柿渋仕上げや漆仕上げの椀や鉢、杯、造形作品などを出展頂きます。どうぞご高覧下さい。

We are please to have the exhibition of Tomoya Arai who makes his works in Shimanto, Kochi. He lives surrounded by beautiful nature of Shimanto cultivating and making living. The works created in his lifestyle are bold and powerful, yet also have gentleness and softness. His works are all uneven because he intend to bring out the beauty that the each wood has. The fascination comes from his works given by him knowing nature and wood.
