We are pleased to present a solo exhibition by metal artist Ryo Watanabe, who works from his studio in Nagano Prefecture. Using metals such as iron, he creates works that evoke objects quietly found in nature. Though made from weighty materials, his pieces display soft surface gradations and a calm, stone-like texture. After graduating from art school and gaining experience in metalworking, Watanabe established his independent practice. Centered on hammer-formed techniques, he works with brass, aluminum, and iron, and in recent years has also explored casting to broaden his expression. Moving between function and sculptural form, his works bring a quiet tension and sense of space to their surroundings. This exhibition presents a selection ranging from everyday objects to sculptural pieces. We invite you to experience Watanabe’s distinctive approach to metal.
