石川県金沢市で漆の器を制作する杉田明彦さんの展覧会を開催致します。時代を経ることで現れる古物の質感に惹かれた杉田さんの作る漆器は、抽象画に見るようなマチエールと静謐な佇まいが魅力。伝統にとらわれすぎず現代に寄り添った漆器は日常で使いやすく、質感、色、造形など作品の細部にまで宿る美しさが暮らしの中に小さな感動をもたらしてくれます。
今展では、日常使いの汁椀からお皿など幅広く出展頂きます。漆器を普段あまり使わないという方にもぜひご高覧頂きたい展覧会です。

We are pleased to hold the exhibition of Akihiko  Sugita who makes lacquerware in Kanazawa, Ishikawa  prefecture. He gets  inspiration from texture and appearance of the  antiques and  expresses it in his work. Sugita ‘s work has expanded the possibilities of lacquer for the image of  lacquerware  and the range of applications in“matière”as seen in abstract  paintings. We will be showing his new works; trays, bowls, and a boxes.
