雄大な山々を臨み、美しい棚田が広がる京丹波の地で制作活動をする石黒幹朗さんの展覧会を開催いたします。石黒さんは害獣駆除の猟で仕留められた動物の皮と向き合うことで、鞄や靴などの素材になる以前皮から感じる根源的な感覚を作品に表現します。石を皮で覆った作品には傷や血管など若い鹿の生命の痕跡がありありと刻まれています。
石黒さんの作品は現代人が忘れかけている「生」について問いかけます。
京都やまほんでは初めての展覧会となります。どうぞご高覧ください。

We are pleased to announce an exhibition by Mikio Ishiguro, an artist based in Kyotamba town, Kyoto Prefecture.
He only use skins from the destructive and dangerous beast which was being got rid of. And because of that, his work always shows us the power of life. Especially, among all of them there’s a work that a piece of stone is being covered with leather.
From the leather surface you could find scars and blood vessel and other traces of life, so that it seems to be a book telling stories about nature, about wildlife.
It is the most attractive feature of Ishiguro’s work that it could remind you the meaning of life and living.
It will be his first solo exhibition in Kyoto yamahon.
