Ms. Ito, based in Fukuoka, personally oversees every step of her process, drawing out the textures and tones of local materials to create vessels that embody her firm dedication to ancient ceramics. Mr. Matsunaga, now working in his hometown of Nankan in Kumamoto after years of producing tea ceramics in Mino, applies his refined skills and research into ancient ceramic fragments to make pieces that highlight the depth of the clay and enrich the dining experience. This exhibition presents tea utensils, sake ware, and everyday tableware by both artists, offering a rare opportunity to view their distinct explorations of ancient ceramics together. We look forward to welcoming you.
