岐阜県美濃市の木工作家 川合優さんの展覧会を開催致します。川合さんは主に器や家具、小物などを制作。森や木々を愛し、寄り添い、そして敬意を払う川合さんは日本の森の在り方を考え、針葉樹を使い日本の木の再評価につなげたいという想いでものづくりをされています。塗装をほとんど施さず木地の持つ個性を活かした清らかな作品を通して、自然の美しさや木の魅力を感じてもらえると幸いです。今展では日常使いの器から折敷や重箱など、さらに家具も数点出展いただきます。ぜひご高覧ください。

Kyoto Yamahon is pleased to announce our upcoming exhibition, “Wood Works” by Masaru Kawai.
KAWAI (Mino-city, Gifu pref.) is a woodwork artist, who mainly produces  vessels, furniture, and accessories.
KAWAI, who loves and respects forests and trees, uses Cedar because of his passion for the life of Japanese forests.
 Making use of each tree’s own texture, and almost no paint, his clean and pure woodwork brings the beauty of nature and the charm of the trees.
