三重県四日市で作陶される内田京子さんの展覧会を開催いたします。内田さんは主に手捻り（てびねり）で制作されています。轆轤を使わず紐状の粘土を積み上げ、指の感覚で作り上げていく技法で、作品から作り手の気持ちがよく伝わってきます。土器のようなプリミティブな形状と、荒々しくも素朴で柔らかい肌合いが魅力で、手跡が残る優しい佇まいからはおおらかな母性が感じられます。今展では日常使いのカップやピッチャー、花器などを出展いただきます。京都やまほんでは初めての個展です。どうぞご高覧下さい。

We are pleased to announce an exhibition by Kyoko Uchida, a ceramic artist based in Yokkaichi city, Mie Prefecture. She forms clay mainly with the handbuilding technique called Tebineri. It allows her using only fingers to create forms, instead of a throwing wheel, and at the same time conveying her feeling through the form. Her works are in a primitive appearance that shows a kind of rustic beauty. Fingerprints could be found and they might remind you of your family memories. There will be cups,pitchers, and flower vases on show. It is her first solo exhibition at kyoto yamahon, and we are looking forward to your visit.
