We are pleased to announce an exhibition by Yuriko Morioka, a ceramist based in Amano, Wakayama prefecture. After Yakishime and earthenware making, she is now mainly creating Hakuji by the wood-fired kiln. She has visited the kiln sites of South Korea to learn pottery making. Through this experience, she started creating ceramics that are deeply influenced by the vessels of the Joseon Dynasty of Korea. Her works are born from the rich but severe nature environment and that‘s the reason why they are with the beauty and grace that expresses a feeling of motherhood. There will be a larger range of works from table wares for everyday use, to Dohagi jars and Sometsuke wares on show. We are looking forward to your visit.
