We are pleased to present an exhibition by Chietsu Mizugaki, who runs her studio in the mountainous region of Oita. This year, wildflowers suddenly began to bloom in her garden—plants that had once been planted long ago, now reappearing through the weeds she had been clearing for the past three years. Mizugaki says that, guided by these unexpected blossoms, she has recently found herself creating more flower vessels and painting floral motifs. Her quiet brushwork in iron painting and blue-and-white porcelain subtly reflects these memories. Her works possess a gentle simplicity reminiscent of antique ceramics, combined with a refined, discerning eye. These are vessels made to accompany the scenery of everyday life. We warmly invite you to view the exhibition.
